Successful American commercial photographer Barbara Peacock works out of Portland, Oregon. She recently began a new project where she aims to use intimate and detailed portraits taken in bedrooms across the USA to photograph the hidden and transparent complexities of who Americans are as individuals and a nation.
The subjects of her photographs come from various backgrounds; some are close friends of the author, while others are total strangers. She invites them to take part in the project in a variety of ways, such as via social media or by leaving a card with all the details at nearby businesses.
