People who are locked at home during the quarantine are letting their imaginations run wild. The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles issued a challenge to art fans to share images of themselves recreating their favorite masterpieces from the comfort of their own homes, and the response was overwhelming.
The Tussen Kunst en Quarantaine (Between Art and Quarantine) Instagram account from Amsterdam was the inspiration for the Getty Museum challenge, which requires you to replicate your favorite work of art using only three items from your house. The Getty isn’t the only institution encouraging individuals to express their passion of art while in quarantine: the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kyiv, Ukraine, is doing the same thing.

“Many individuals throughout the world have participated in the online challenge, even if they are unable to go to Los Angeles or Getty. We hope they’ll be motivated to visit when they get the opportunity “We learned this from a museum spokesperson.
She also stated that many museum employees are working from home, with some on-site to “ensure the treasures and grounds are secure and properly kept.” Everyone is excited to go back on site to visit their teammates and work with the collections, according to the spokesman.

“Hundreds of thousands more have been DM’d to us in addition to the ones that have been made public! We hadn’t anticipated such a response—we had hoped that a few people might like the exercise, but it certainly hit a chord!” Annelisa showed herself.
“People have been really creative and supportive of others’ works, cheering them on, laughing with them, and praising their favorites. “The United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia have all responded creatively,” she added. “We’ve also been ecstatic to see kids of all ages participate, as well as high school art history instructors arranging their students to include the challenge into their coursework.” It’s a fantastic method to look at and learn about art while still being creative.”

According to another Getty spokesperson, the museum is always producing new online materials. A film of the Getty’s “great but now-shuttered Michelangelo displays” was one of the most recent additions.
The Getty remains closed due to the coronavirus, but the museum is assisting the surrounding community. Thousands of gloves and hundreds of masks were provided by the Getty to UCLA Health to aid doctors and nurses battle Covid-19. Since then, the museum has been on the lookout for innovative methods to assist both local and worldwide populations.
