Repairing shattered ceramics with a mixture of gold, silver, or platinum lacquer and powder is the art form known as “Kintsugi” in Japan. This is the premise of a project by Pakistani artist Sarah Shakeel, whose odd pictures are enthralling many online viewers. Using digital collage techniques, the artist is transforming the stretch marks into pieces of art.

By encouraging followers to share photos of their stretch marks for her to make into art, the artist urges individuals to accept and be proud of their story.
